A question for Jehovah's Witnesses
| If Jesus returned in 1914, why didn't anyone notice and why is the world still so bad? |
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914. Yet Jesus himself said
"If anyone tells you, `There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.
For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
...At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory."
(Matthew 24:26-27,30)
Clearly this hasn't happened yet.
Furthermore, the Bible promises that when Jesus returns he will be a great king in Jerusalem, bringing peace to the world.
Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. (Isaiah 2:3-4)
Again, this hasn't yet happened.
Don't believe anyone who tells you Jesus has already returned!
